Release Notes - Interactive Planning Tool Version 3 Welcome Screen 1. Version number displays. 2. List of previously saved 'plans' is displayed. These were previously referred to as 'templates'. 2. First Tab 1. On the first tab the Back, Forward and Home buttons display smaller. 2. + and - buttons have been removed. 3. The Send to Planning Tool button has been made bigger. 3. Planning Tool tab 1. Depth of the page has been reduced to prevent the buttons in the text editor from disappearing when scrolling down this is to reduce the impact of having two scroll bars on lower resolution screens. 2. 'Template' area has been renamed to 'Plan'. 4. Preview tab has been added Templates - the Word document loaded to begin a plan. 1. When loading a template the base style will be displayed. This means that if a Heading 1 style has been modified to look like normal text, it will display as heading 1 when it is imported into the planning tool. It is therefore important to ensure that the template uses the correct style. 1. Tip - If you are unsure about which styles have been used in the template you can clear all the formatting and then reformat the template using the base 'Normal' font. 2. To clear the formatting select all text in the document, Select Format > Styles and Formatting then select Clear Formatting from the 'Pick formatting to apply' list. 2. Any text dragged across from the collected content into the plan will assume the style defined in the template. E.g. if the font in the template is Comic Sans MS, when text is dragged across to the plan it will change from Arial (as it appears in the collected content) to Comic Sans MS (as defined in the template). If a new blank template has been used the font will be Times New Roman. 3. If the font is changed within the planning tool these font changes will be reflected in the document when saved to Word. 4. When a plan is saved to Word it will assume the same page orientation as the template. If the template was in Landscape, the plan will be in Landscape when save to Word. Preview tab 1. When moving an image from one place to another within the document, the image does not display in the preview tab until the plan has been saved to the planning tool. 2. Ability to print the plan from the preview tab has been provided. Word 2000 issues 1. The issues with lost content when saving to Word 2000 has been resolved. 2. One issue that is not possible to resolve in Word 2000 is the rendering of images when a plan is shared/moved. Due to the way in which Word 2000 references linked images (by using absolute rather than relative links) when a plan is shared with the associated folder images do not display. If you use Word 2000 and want to share/move your plan you need to perform an extra step when saving the file. After saving the plan to Word, 1. Open the Word document. 2. Select Edit > Links 3. Select all the links in the list (click on the first one the hold the shift key and press the End key). 4. Tick/Check the 'Include image in file' check box. 5. Click OK, 6. Save the file. 7. When the file is shared images will be displayed correctly. Other associated files should open when the link is clicked as they are referred to with relative links.
